Refund cancellation fee and exceptions

Most Body Research events require prepayment of fees and offer an early registration discount.  The reasoning behind this is that production of events is far easier and less costly in terms of tie, money, and effort when people commit early.  when this happens, we can take that energy that would be put into promotion and getting the word out and put it more into the fun part: content.

Because what we are wanting is a commitment, we charge a cancellation fee.  To explain, as this is not obvious to all, this both helps compensate for any extra administrative work and coordination effort and extra production costs and also assures that people don’t casually register without actually committing.  If we regularly gave full refunds, it would defeat the purpose of prepayment and early registration discount. 

That said, there are sometimes events that are beyond our control and we make exceptions.  This would be something like family emergency, suddenly falling ill or accident, natural disaster, etc..  In such cases, we’ll usually make an exception, unless we there are expenses already committed.  If this is the case, feel free to write and ask.
